Jens Kloppmann: “schlachten” (Kunstraum Richard Sorge, Berlin)

On 5 May 2011, Kunstraum Richard Sorge will open the solo show “schlachten” with works by Jens Kloppmann. The exhibits presented address war, perception and commemoration by various ways and different materials. On show from 8 May onwards (and thus parallel to the anniversary of unconditional surrender of German forces in World War II), the exhibition will be supported by special events such as an artist’s talk on 26 May, moderated by Martin Bayer (wartist.org).

Exhibition: War and Medicine (Dresden)

The Deutsche Hygiene-Museum (German Hygiene Museum) in Dresden presents from 4 April to 9 August 2009 the comprehensive exhibition “Krieg und Medizin” (War and Medicine). It has been organised in cooperation with the Wellcome Collection in London, where the exhibition could be seen from 22 November 2008 to 15 February 2009. The multifaceted Ausstellung exposition includes 450 exhibits on 800m²: photos, surgical instruments, prostheses, documents, but also video installations, paintings and other works of art. A visit is highly recommended.

Of Corn Grenades and Nazi Kittens

Again in this year, to be precise on December 4th 2008 at the venue TIPI am Kanzleramt (close to the Federal Chancellery), the professional interest magazine politik&kommunikation presented its Politikaward. For Wartist, too, there was something to be enjoyed: remembering the campaign of M&C Saatchi (Berlin) for the regional association of the party Bündnis 90/Die Grünen (Greens)regarding the election of the state parliament in Lower Saxony on January 27th 2008.
